Often dogs that are oriented to the water need to have "fetch" toys that will float. Here again, a stick is the one most often used and also the most deadly. It is far better to use a regular "bumper" type of toy. If you dont want to spend the money, especially since water toys can often be lost, you can make a much cheaper version. This version is a closed plastic bottle partially filled with water, (to give it enough weight to throw) with a rope tied around the neck. Give a good swing with the rope and you can sail this toy quite a distance out into the water. The toy has much the same action as a bumper toy and is very cheap to make.
Choosing Safe Dog Toys - Anyone who has a dog knows they are a part of the family. When they feel like a child to you, you want to give them the best regardless it be food, toys, or misc. items. Dogs are a wonderful creature that bring warmth and pleasure and can always put a smile on your face. These precious animals love to play and we spend countless dollars on dog toys every year. Why do we do this? Well most of the time the toy will either shred away or after playing with it for a while you come to realize it isn’t as safe as you thought.
Different Breeds Mean Different Needs - The type of interactive toy you should buy can depend on the breed of your dog. For example, German Shepherd dogs could focus for a long period of time on solving a puzzle. Giving them a puzzle toy that they need to figure out can keep them busy for hours and stimulate their minds. Toys that you can put treats into are a great choice as they will be tempted to keep trying until all of the treats are gone. Smaller dogs such as Chihuahuas, Beagles, and so on may not be able to focus for a long time on one toy. They could do better with a variety of interactive dog toys that they can choose from. My two small dogs love rope toys and squeaky toys.
