Chocolate - To dogs, chocolate acts as a stimulant, making your dogs heartbeat accelerate or beat irregularly, leading to seizures and even cardiac arrest. To compound things further, it also acts as a severe diuretic, causing frequent urination, vomiting, and/or diarrhea. If you even suspect your dog has consumed chocolate, take him to an animal hospital immediately. Grapes and Raisins - Grapes and raisins create havoc with your dogs kidneys and digestive system. Whats worse is that the amount of grapes needed to cause problems can vary greatly among individual dogs. Symptoms include frequent urination, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Elevated dog bowls allow dogs to eat at a more natural stance, keeping their neck, back and hips in a standing position without putting undue stress on these joints. They also keep your puppy from swallowing too much air while eating which can cause indigestion, vomiting, choking and bloat which can be deadly. This is particularly important for English Bulldog puppies as they have a deep chest cavity that is more prone to bloat than other breeds.
Durability To other, feeding time is frenzy time. Most dogs are so excited and so eager to eat that lesser-quality dog bowls break or chip off. During play time, bowls may also be damaged due to other forces. It is therefore important to pick a dog bowl whose durability suits the kind of dog you have- a wild one, a pampered pup or a dainty lady.
