Choosing The Right Dog Cage! A dog cage is essentially a dogs own room, its own area in the house that is completely his own. Choosing the right dog cage is an important decision that requires some thought. The ideal dog cage should be tall enough for your dog to sit or stand upright and long enough so they can stretch out while on their side. If the cage is too big and your dog has too much room he might soil one end. Dogs, like most animals, dont like to be around their waste and it will cause them feel uncomfortable. If the cage is too small the dog cant move around and will again feel uncomfortable.
Obviously, human ancestors also found it necessary to provide a method to keep them contained and near the campsite. I believe that the very first large dog crate for a tamed pet was built with sticks and placed into the soil building a small circle. Evolving from a gray wolf, a few of the very first tamed canine animals were utilized as guard dogs. Keeping these animals near as well as earning their trust became important to their becoming tamed.
